January 2026: The Urban Clinic of Atlanta and Good Shepherd Clinic Merge to Expand Access to Care for Uninsured Residents

Two leading metro Atlanta free clinics have officially joined forces, combining decades of service to increase access to care for uninsured residents. The Urban Clinic of Atlanta and Good Shepherd Clinic bring together a combined 35 years of experience delivering high-quality, compassionate primary care.

Within this newly merged organization, the legacy and programming of Good Shepherd Clinic will continue uninterrupted under the operation of The Urban Clinic of Atlanta, ensuring patients in Clayton County continue to receive the care and support they have relied on for years.

The merger strengthens the clinics’ ability to expand reach, enhance services, and deliver care more efficiently while preserving the trusted relationships built within the community. By combining expertise, resources, and infrastructure, the unified organization is better positioned to address growing healthcare disparities among uninsured and medically underserved populations across metro Atlanta.

The organizations began merger discussions last year in response to increasing demand for accessible healthcare services and widening gaps in care for uninsured individuals throughout the region.

The unified organization will continue operating from both existing clinic locations, including Good Shepherd Clinic at 6392 Murphy Drive, Morrow, GA, and The Urban Clinic of Atlanta at 777 Cleveland Ave SW, Suite 209, Atlanta, GA. New patients seeking care can visit urbanclinic.org/newpatients for information on available services, clinic hours, and how to make appointments.

Both clinics express deep gratitude to the generous supporters, faith communities, and community partners who make this work possible. Through financial support, volunteerism, and professional expertise, these partners play a vital role in ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care every day.

This merger marks the beginning of a shared commitment to increasing healthcare access and improving the well-being of uninsured residents throughout metro Atlanta.
